PROMPT OF THE WEEK

Master the art of emotional connection — one prompt at a time. Try this:

“Write a social media caption that speaks to a [insert your ideal customer] who feels [insert common struggle], and show how [your product] helps them feel [desired outcome]. Keep it emotional, not salesy.”

Here are some examples for different business types:

🛍️ For Product-Based Brands (Mugs, Apparel, Journals):

“Write a post for a woman who feels overwhelmed every morning and is tired of rushing through her routine. Show how a cozy, inspiring mug can help her slow down and start her day with intention.”

📦 For Print-on-Demand (T-Shirts, Gifts):

“Write a post for someone who’s struggling to feel confident and wants to express their personality. Highlight how your bold graphic tee helps them feel seen and empowered.”

💻 For Digital Products (eBooks, Templates, Courses):

“Write a post for an overwhelmed business owner who feels stuck and unsure what to post online. Show how your content planning workbook helps them feel clear, organized, and finally in control.”

🎁 For Subscription Boxes or Wellness Kits:

“Write a caption for a busy mom who feels burnt out and forgotten. Highlight how your self-care box makes her feel pampered and prioritized — even if she only has 10 minutes to herself.”

📚 For Coaches or Educators:

“Write a post for someone who feels like they’re working hard but not seeing results. Show how your course or training gives them the tools to finally make progress — without the overwhelm.”

BEYOND THE SCROLL

Why Your Posts aren’t Selling (and the weirdly simple fix you can try today)

Let’s be honest — posting content for your business can feel like shouting into the void.

You’ve got the product.

You’ve tried trending audio.
You’ve got the Canva graphics.
You’re doing your best to be consistent.

And still…

  • Your posts barely get seen

  • Your likes are low.

  • And the sales? Don’t even get me started.

And it’s frustrating because you’re doing everything the gurus say:

“Be consistent!”
“Use trending audio!”
“Post every day!”

“Content is king!”

But if content is king, where’s your crown?

It's NOT your fault. And you're are not alone.

A few weeks ago, I asked my subscribers what they’re struggling with when it comes to content and sales — and the responses were raw and real. Here are a few:

“I post all the time, but I’ve only made 3 sales.”
“I can’t figure out how to reach people.”
“I just want to make content that connects and converts.”

Here’s the REAL reason your posts aren’t selling

The problem isn’t that your product isn’t amazing.
It’s not that you’re lazy or uncommitted.
The real issue?

Most business owners — especially those just starting or flying solo — are stuck in feature mode.

They’re posting about their product.
But not about the problem their product actually solves.

You’re writing content about what you have —
when you need to be writing about what your audience feels.

You’re talking about features (“BPA-free mug in 3 colors”)
instead of feelings (“I’m tired, overwhelmed, and my coffee keeps going cold”).

They're creating content that explains what the product is — but not why it matters.

They’re focused on features, not feelings. On visibility, not value.
And that disconnect is why people scroll past “Our new mugs just dropped” instead of clicking “Add to Cart.”

The fix? It's surprisingly simple.

But the wonderful news is that you don’t need to be a better writer. You don’t need a massive ad budget. And you definitely don’t need to post 3x a day to get sales.

You just need one, weirdly simple shift in how you use AI (and your words). Instead of writing content that focuses on your product, write content that starts with your customer’s struggle.

 đŸ‘‡Let me show you how.

  1. Identify the pain or desire

Start by asking yourself, what does my customer hate dealing with?
Or what would make their life easier or better?

For example, let’s imagine that I sell print-on-demand mugs to women. Here is what my customers struggles with:

She’s tired of cold coffee. She wants her mornings to feel calm and productive.

Then, try to weave that information in your social media content.  So …

✅ Instead of:

“New mug just dropped! Dishwasher safe, BPA-free, and available in 3 colors.”

🔥 Try:

“Tired of boring mornings and cold coffee? This mug keeps it hot — and makes you smile before 9 a.m.”

  1. Prompt AI with the struggle

But in reality, you don’t even have to figure out what your customer struggles with.  Why? Because we have access to amazing AI tools like ChatGPT.  And if you give ChatGPT the right prompt, it can create irresistible content.

Here’s a ChatGPT prompt you can use:

“Write a social media caption that speaks to a busy woman who’s tired of reheating her coffee three times every morning and wants a calmer start to her day.”

Let the AI give you a few options. Then tweak the one that feels right.

But the bottom line is, when you start with your customer’s pain point, the content becomes magnetic — it pulls the right people in, speaks to their emotions, and makes them feel seen.

  1. Add a simple Call-To-Action

A call-to-action, or CTA, is short for telling the customer what to do.  You always want to have CTAs in your social media content.  Why? Because you have to tell the reader exactly what you want them to do.  If you don’t tell them what to do, they won’t do anything.  Don’t assume that people will buy your product or download that cheat sheet just because you are posting about it.

And a CTA doesn't always have to lead someone to purchase - even though that’s what we want them to do most of the time.  You can say things like “click the link to download a document”, “Buy now”, “register for this webinar”, etc.  But ideally you want to have a CTA in every social media post you publish.

So for our morning mug example, here’s a good CTA:

“Want to make mornings feel magical again? Click the link in bio to find out how.”

Boom. That’s it.

No overthinking. Just a relatable post that speaks directly to your customer and leads them to your store.

Here’s the final version of the social media post -

“Tired of boring mornings and cold coffee? This mug keeps it hot — and makes you smile before 9 a.m. If you want to make mornings feel magical again, click the link in bio to find out how.”

Why this works (even if you've tried everything)

This strategy flips the script.
It’s not about selling your product — it’s about solving a problem.

That tiny shift?
It turns lurkers into likers, likers into clickers, and clickers into customers.

This is the start of posting smarter, not harder.
You don’t have to keep spinning your wheels.
You can use AI strategically to create posts that connect, build trust, and actually sell.

Because we’re not posting for likes anymore!  We’re posting sales and letting AI do all the hard work.

But wait - how do you do this every day? Or every week?
