BEYOND THE SCROLL
What to Post When Youāre Tired, Stuck, or Just Over It
Letās talk about that moment ā the one where you're sitting at your laptop, phone in hand, with exactly zero inspiration.
You know you āshouldā post today.
You havenāt shown up in a few days.
You told yourself you were going to batch content, schedule things, be that person.
But life happened.
Clients needed you.
Family needed you.
And now youāre here, 7:42 p.m., trying to whip something up before the algorithm forgets you exist.
Iāve been there more times than I can count.
And if youāre reading this, Iād bet my best mug that you have too.
Hereās what I want you to know:
š” You donāt have to post perfect. You just have to post something that feels true.
And believe it or not, some of your most powerful posts ā the ones that connect, get comments, and even convert ā are born from the days you feel like you've got nothing left in the tank.
Why?
Because when you're over it, tired, stretched too thin to pretend⦠thatās often when your realest content shows up.
You donāt need to be āonā ā you just need to be honest
Weāve all been fed the lie that content has to be:
Valuable
Beautiful
Consistent
Strategic
SEO-optimized
Hashtag-happy
And also fun, educational, inspirational, AND sales-driven⦠all at once.
Exhausted yet?
Hereās the truth no one tells you:
š„ Some of the most engaging posts online are also the simplest.
The posts that say:
āI didnāt feel like posting today. So hereās a picture of my coffee and a thought I canāt stop thinking about.ā
āIf youāre building a business and crying in your car between client calls, I see you.ā
āHereās a peek at something Iām working on. No filter. Just trying to figure it out as I go.ā
When you post like that ā stripped down, real, not trying so hard ā you build something more powerful than an aesthetic feed: trust.
And trust is what actually sells.
The 3 types of posts that still work when you donāt want to post at all
If youāre in the āI should post today but I have no brain cells leftā zone, try one of these:
āIYKYKā Posts ā Quiet Content that Creates Belonging
These are posts that make your audience feel like theyāre part of an inside joke or shared struggle.
No long caption. No big setup. Just something that says:
āYouāre not alone. I get it.ā
Examples:
A photo of your messy desk with the caption āEntrepreneur chic.ā
A reel of your five open tabs with trending audio and a caption that reads, āJust another day running my empire šµāš«ā
A quick text post: āWho else scheduled a post at 11:59 p.m. just to say you posted today? šš¾āāļøā
These posts are low-effort but high-connection.
Prompt to use:
āWrite a short post that uses humor or empathy to connect with overwhelmed business owners who feel behind on content.ā
āLazy Geniusā Behind-the-Scenes
You donāt have to have something finished or polished to share it.
People love to see what youāre working on ā even when itās messy.
Try:
A screenshot of your draft caption (typos and all)
A quick selfie with the caption: āTrying to look confident while writing tomorrowās email šā
A 10-second video showing your desktop with a voiceover: āThis is what content creation looks like when youāre half asleep.ā
These kinds of posts humanize you. They also show that youāre doing the work ā even when itās not perfect.
Prompt to use:
āWrite a casual caption that describes what Iām working on today, using humor and honesty. Include a soft CTA if relevant.ā
āIāve Been Thereā Truth Drop
Sometimes, all your audience needs is to hear the truth from someone whoās been where they are.
This kind of post doesnāt need a long story or polished narrative.
Just speak plainly. Open a wound ā and offer a little healing.
Example starters:
āHereās what I wish someone told me when I startedā¦ā
āThis week was rough. But hereās what I learnedā¦ā
āNot a win, not a loss. Just a reminder that progress isnāt always pretty.ā
Prompt to use:
āWrite a one-paragraph Instagram post that begins with: āHereās what I wish someone told me when I startedā¦ā Make it real and encouraging.ā
How AI can help you write these when you donāt want to think
If you're already drained, staring at a blinking cursor, donāt try to write from scratch.
Ask AI to help you start.
Not finish.
Just start.
Feed it one of the prompts above.
Or even say something as simple as: āWrite a short caption for Instagram based on the idea: Iām tired but still showing up.ā
Itās like having a writing buddy who never sleeps and doesnāt judge you when youāre in sweatpants and winging it.
And we all have days like that. Itās okay. AI can help you still show up and get sales.
SCROLL-STOPPING TAKEAWAY
Youāre allowed to be tired.
Youāre allowed to not have the perfect post.
Youāre allowed to show up messy and still make magic happen.
Todayās your chance to learn how to do that ā with a little help from AI.
Hopefully Iāll see you there š»ā¤ļø
